Established by the will of Indro Montanelli in 1987, the Foundation aims to preserve, enhance and extend the patrimony of the library with which it is equipped, to promote studies and publications on the history, traditions and culture of the territory of the municipality of Fucecchio, to ban scholarships and writing awards, to undertake initiatives for the protection and enhancement of the historical, cultural and environmental heritage of Fucecchio and its territory.

Since 2001, the year of Indro’s death, he has been committed to supporting research on his work, of which he preserves a rich documentation in his archive, in addition to his studies (the “Rooms”) with numerous furnishings and testimonies that can be visited on the opening days or by appointment (free admission).

Montanelli’s Library and “Stanze” are open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 3pm to 7pm.

Summer opening hours
months of June and July: Tuesday and Thursday from 9 to 13, Saturday and Sunday from 15 to 19;
August: complete closure to the public (openings and extraordinary visits by reservation at 328 1289087).
