Infiorata del Corpus Domini
The infiorata is an ephemeral art of making real designs on the ground, coloring them with flower petals, leaves and sometimes seeds, originated in Rome in 1621.
It probably came to Fucecchio with the stories of pilgrims in transit along the Francigena and has become a tradition.
Since 1990 the Pro loco Fucecchio has been coordinating the construction work, which begins on Saturday afternoon and goes on through the night to be ready on the morning of Corpus Christi Sunday for the procession to pass through.
